Surgoinsville Soup & Scripture Outreach Ministry

A collaborative of 5 churches in Surgoinsville who deliver over 100 meals on the 2nd Thursday of every month to elderly shut-ins of the community. This ministry has been lovingly referred to as "the hands and feet of Jesus".

Mission: To meet the needs of food and fellowship for many older adults in the community.

Prepare, Package, and Deliver Meals

Volunteers are invited to join Surgoinsville Soup and Scripture Outreach Ministry on the 2nd Thursday of every month to prepare, package and deliver meals.

Support Through Donations

Financial donations, as well as food and supplies are appreciated.

What We Do

This outreach ministry helps to meet the needs of food and fellowship for many older adults in the community. Some are homebound, lonely, do not have family support, or are ill, but all can benefit from a hot meal and a friendly visit.

Representatives from participating churches meet to plan monthly menus for the entire year.

Food is prepared at Surgoinsville First Baptist and Surgoinsville First United Methodist. The delivery is made from one of these churches.

Meal recipients are referred by participating churches to the Volunteer Coordinator.
